In South Africa we have diverse cultures that include our heritage, music, dance and food. Most importantly we as LDS we have one culture, a culture to love, be charitable and lead others with kindness.
The PTA stake organised a Cultural YSA activity, whereby we were joined by Centurion and Johannesburg stake. The main aim of the activity was to introduce every individual to different cultural groups. We were joined into groups and began our tour to different cultural groups. The first group was the Xitsonga group whereby we ate amasonja (worms) and they tasted nice, and we danced till our waists lines were loose. We visited the Indian group where we met one of the Gupta’s the never returned home ‘’LOL’’. We tasted the spicy rice and samosa. Hmmm that was delicious. Then the Indian dancers gave us an exciting performance. The atmosphere felt like we were in India. Our next stop was in Botswana, where we met the king and the we ate pap and meat. That was some real food to a man’s stomach. We dropped by in Swaziland and met all the King’s wives and they performed a traditional dance for us. Chillie was our next stop where we learned that it is a small country with delicious food .We also sang “I am a child of God” in Spanish. Our last stop was Hawaii , it looked like a small Garden of Eden, the place had leaves and fruits as part of the decorations. It looked peaceful! The activity was a success and it was exciting!

As
we look up to our Heavenly Father we will gain strength, courage and wisdom to
live by His word and endure to the end. Our Heavenly Father loves us and we
must never forget that He loves us. This is a tip to the ladies By Sister Cook,if
a brethren wants you to get married to
him he should say “ Do you want to progress with me towards exaltation?” Ladies
get your manicure ready for that ring. Thank you to all YSA’s who came and
participated. Till we meet again.

Dating Activity
Thema YSA in Bedfordview
| Journey to the Promised Land |
The Kwa-Thema Young Single Adult on our way to Berdfordview dating activity, on the 13 April 2013. What a long journey it was for us to get from Thema to Joburg, as things got worse when we go stuck on the N12 for half an hour. At least we got there in time, with our make-up on. As soon as we got to the Church the Priesthood were given numbers for different females to ask out on a DATE! The aim of the activity was to mix and mingle and to go on a date with our pears within the Church.
Yes, now we know that we can still have fun on date without spending a penny. The aim of the activity was to bring together the East-rand YSA and go out on date. There were more than five activities and lots of snacks to enjoy. The ladies raised concerns about the Brethren not approaching them because their looks might be too intimidating. The Brethren response was the some ladies are DIVAS!
